Serving communities is a large part of what makes Roadrunners so critical to 丹佛. Through the Roadrunners 给 Back program, Metropolitan State University of 丹佛 employees are encouraged to participate in the Cesar Chavez Day of Service event March 29.

Participants may choose among making a meal for families at Ronald McDonald House, creating and packaging resources for people experiencing homelessness or building permanent affordable housing through Habitat for Humanity.

In addition to increased endorphins and serotonin for helping the lives of others, volunteers will receive a “Roadrunners 给 Back” T-shirt.

“This event stems from 密歇根州立大学丹佛’s core value of community and servingness,托尼·阿霍说, associate director of Equity and Student Leadership. “The opportunity for the 密歇根州立大学丹佛 community to engage with organizations that are working toward solutions to the challenges facing the 丹佛 metro (area) is a learning experience that cannot be replicated in a classroom.

“Encouraging civic engagement moves individuals from citizens to active citizens/individuals who consider their actions and values within the larger scope of positive social change.”
