Automated external defibrillators (AEDs) are in all major campus buildings as a safety measure for cardiac crisis events. 的se portable devices are 位于 in easy-access points, primarily on the first floor of buildings. In buildings you frequent, please be aware of where you can find the closest AED. 的 AED will coach untrained responders on operating the device with voice commands. This two-hour course teaches participants basic life-saving medical interventions:

• Bleeding control with gauze packs or topical hemostatic agents

Since portable fire extinguishers are only as effective as the user, the Fire Prevention and Investigation Division offers training to help ensure that employees have the confidence and skills necessary to take action should a fire occur on campus.
