Minor in 艺术历史, Theory, and Criticism

艺术历史, 理论, and criticism courses offer opportunities to gain different perspectives on artistic practice utilizing research-based models to understand the cultural conditions for art and design globally. Students minoring in the discipline or who select general studies coursework will discover that art history complements and expands their studies through knowledge of aesthetic and cultural practice from around the world. A broad understanding of culture prepares us for engagement in a dynamic and interconnected global context in the 21st century.

Art majors who elect to minor in 艺术历史, Theory and Criticism should be aware that coursework used to meet requirements for the major may not be used to meet requirements for a minor. 艺术历史, Theory and Criticism is a distinct academic discipline from Art or Communication Design, although all reside within the 艺术系 and common foundational requirements.

辅修数字媒体

The 数字媒体辅修课程 includes courses from the departments of Art, Communication Arts and Sciences, and Journalism and 媒体 Production. A student minoring in 数字媒体 can be advised by full-time faculty in the 艺术系, or by faculty in the Journalism and 媒体 Production or Communication Arts and Sciences Departments. Students should contact an advisor to plan a course of study for their particular minor.

This minor consists of 24 credits, 6 of which must be upper division. This minor is designed to provide skills that will increase employment opportunities in the field of digital media communication. In addition to required core courses, students choose one of the following concentrations: motion media, 互动媒体, content design or still media. The motion media concentration deals with television and corporate video production. Students in 互动媒体 work with computer graphics, interactive applications and Web-based media production. 辅修工作室艺术

Students earn 27 credits to obtain a 辅修工作室艺术. Candidates for the Minor may be advised by any of the faculty in the 艺术系. Please refer to the 辅修艺术工作室 advising sheet or university catalog to learn more about the specific coursework in this minor.
