Review Processes for Retention, Tenure, and 促销活动 and Post-Tenure审查

All full-time faculty at 密歇根州立大学丹佛 go through various review processes as outlined in the 教师就业手册. Detailed information about these processes can be found in the FEH Guidebook for Portfolio Preparation as well as on the Department Guidelines and the Office of 教员事务 水印 pages.

* Faculty submit first year portfolios in the spring semester, and thereafter portfolios are submitted annually in the fall, according to the procedural calendar, which may be accessed on the Office of 教员事务 website.

**讲师, in cases of a recommendation of non-retention or 促销活动 to Senior Lecturer, the Provost will make the final determination. 在终身制的年月里, 2, 4, 和5, if the 迪安 does not reappoint a faculty member, the faculty member may appeal to the University Appeals Committee. The recommendation of the University Appeals Committee, along with the candidate’s portfolio, 会被教务长审查吗, 谁来做最后的决定. 在终身制的第三年, if the Provost does not reappoint a faculty member to the next 任期内 track year, the faculty member may appeal to the University Appeals Committee. The recommendation of the University Appeals Committee, along with the candidate’s portfolio, will be reviewed by the 总统, 谁来做最后的决定.

*** The 总统 is the final authority regarding 促销活动 to Associate Professor, while the Trustees are the final authority regarding granting or denying 任期内.

` In the case of a Department Chair being a candidate for reappointment, 任期内, 促销活动, 和/或终身教职后的评估, the recommendation of a Peer Review Committee, comprising at least three other Department Chairs appointed by the College/School 迪安, will substitute for the recommendation of the Chair. 在这种情况下, the Department Chair will still review the reappointment, 任期内, 促销活动, or post-任期内 review portfolios for other candidates within that Department.

^ If the review letters for the previous year have indicated specific areas of concern that may prevent a successful 任期内 application, the faculty member will include in the portfolio relevant documentation addressing progress in those areas.

As of July 1, 2023, base pay increases for successful reviews are as follows:

  • Tenure-and-促销活动: 5000美元
  • 促销:8000美元
  • 终身教职后评审:3000美元
